Where were you born/where did you grow up: I was born in a suburb just outside of Toronto called Brampton, Ontario. My summers were spent on Lake Mazinaw - where our family cabin still resides.
How do you connect to the elements: In the winter I spend as much of my time as possible snowboarding in the mountains. In the summer I spend every day outside. Whether it’s swimming, river surfing, hiking, wakeboarding, or just going for a walk - I will spend every moment I can in the sun.
Your favourite place to snowboard: I split most of my time between Lake Louise and Fernie, although I always venture to Kicking Horse and Revelstoke when I get the chance.
Why do you love snowboarding: The idea of being able to get lost on a mountain makes everything else feel so insignificant. If I’m ever having an off day - the minute I hop on the highway and see mountains on the horizon, nothing else seems to matter. The fresh air and adrenaline you experience in the elements, and the fact that this feeling continues throughout the evening and even for days afterward is simply unbeatable.
Other sports/activities that you love: I also love to wakeboard and swim - in rivers, lakes, my bathtub, I don’t discriminate. I surf any opportunity I get and I play baseball in the summer and box as well.
What is one thing that you can’t live without: My head. Seriously. Without it I’d be in trouble.
Top 5 things on your bucket list: Snowboarding in both Japan and the Swiss Alps are two bucket list items for sure. I would love to visit Africa as well and travel to the Northwest Territories to experience the midnight sun. At one point I’ll jump out of an airplane too. Maybe tomorrow.
